Billr (“we”, “us”, “our”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use billr.us (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect

We do not collect or store card numbers; all payments run through PayPal’s secure platform.
2. How We Use Your Information
Provide and maintain the Service (time tracking, price calculation, shared client views).
Process payments and keep financial records.
Communicate with you about updates, security alerts, and core account matters.
Send marketing content about Billr products and offers (see §4).
We rely on your consent (for marketing emails) and on our legitimate interest / contractual necessity (to run the Service and process payments).
3. Sharing & Transfers
We do not sell, rent, share, or transfer your personal data to any third party. The only external party involved is PayPal, which receives the data you enter on its checkout pages and acts as its own data controller.
4. Marketing Communications
By signing up you agree to receive occasional marketing emails about Billr. You can opt out at any time by:
Clicking “Unsubscribe” at the bottom of any message, or
Disabling marketing emails in Settings.
Your choice will not affect service-related emails (transactional or legal notices).
5. Data Retention
Account & usage data are stored while your account is active.
If you delete your account, we erase personal data within 30 days, except financial records we must keep for legal/tax reasons.
Cleared-payment history linked to PayPal IDs is retained for up to 7 years to comply with bookkeeping obligations, then deleted.
6. Security
Full HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit.
Data encrypted at rest.
Limited, role-based staff access.
Regular backups and monitoring.
No method is 100 % secure, but we work to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, or destruction.
7. Your Rights
Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:
Access the personal data we hold about you.
Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
Delete your data (“right to be forgotten”).
Withdraw consent for marketing at any time.

8. Children’s Privacy
Billr is for users 18 years and older. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. If the changes are material we will notify you by email and/or an in-app banner at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
